I’m not sure if Filmmaker Friday is a thing…maybe it should be…
Regardless, it’s Friday, and if you’re a filmmaker and you don’t know what’s going on with Divergent Media, you should.
Mike Woodworth has had a long career in filmmaking. He’s seen a lot, done a lot, and has worked through his share of workflow problems – in production and post production. So, he decided to shift his focus – create production software tools that will just make all those workflow problems he had to endure go away. So he did it. And that’s what I like about this guy, and it’s what I love about Divergent Media. A software company born of filmmakers, making software that just makes their lives better.
Divergent Media makes software for media prep, monitoring and delivery – the stuff DITs, shooters, cinematographers and editors really, really need.
Divergent has been doing their thing for a while now, flying under the radar, but building a loyal following. And in the past month or so, they’ve been amping things up even more.
Last week, they announced a brand new version of EditReady that nicely integrates their ScopeBox application – dedicated full time scopes, with no hardware needed. So it’s fast! And it’s getting some attention from the industry.
This week, Divergent Media announced a partnership with Pomfort – they were so blown away by ScopeBox, they’ve integrated it with their flagship Silverstack XT version 5.1.

So if you’re a filmmaker, DIT, DoP, editor, cinematographer – you need to know about these guys.
